I think our feeding stand is the same as yours. She’s sitting there so daintily. :-)
I actually don’t particularly like that stand because water and food gets under the bowls and it gets rather gross to clean up. Also the entire concept of using it as a food bin is ludicrous given how messy the top part gets and the fact that it’s anything but airtight. But it was a gift and I figured that Yara needed any digestive help she could get at the time.
I agree on both points. I run the bowls through the dishwasher once a week and wipe out the bowl places then. We have a food bowl for each dog, so it doesn’t get as yucky as it would if one was a water bowl. I store the dog food in a rolling airtight bin. Ours was a cast-off from my Mom, and I figured the extra height would help Rufus not have to bend so far.
Yeah, my food is stored in the container behind the stand, which is an airtight container. I bought a similar one years ago when I first got Dolly, but it went to my father’s when she retired. I actually like this one better since it has a scoop that fits inside the lid.
I will say the elevated feeder does stay slightly cleaner with Uschi than it did with Yara. I think Yara alternates between her food and water more often than Uschi does while eating because there doesn’t seem to be dribble spots all over it after every meal these days.
