Two Completely Unrelated Things

Of late I’ve noticed Yara has been actively avoiding children when working. This isn’t to say she’s not still fascinated by them, taking any free opportunity to reposition herself so that she can focus her full attention on them. But for the last week, possibly more, when she is actively guiding, she makes a point of putting as much distance as she can between us and any passing children. At first I thought she was veering off from some obstacle in our path I was missing, but then I was walking with Sharon at the Plaza and Yara practically dragged me into the fountain to avoid some children. Certainly I’m not complaining. It’s just that I have absolutely no idea what brought this on and it is such a drastic change in her. Curious.

Also of note, I have been nearly obsessively figuring out my leave for next year and planning several trips. Most notable among these is a steadily growing list of conventions we’ll be attending. (Possibly culminating with Comic-Con!) I’m actually thoroughly excited about this, and by the looks the schedule of these works out so Yara will be exposed to increasingly larger cons. Though, I’m fairly certain I’m driving a not small group of my friends to insanity with my nearly constant fixation on all this. Personally, the only downside I see is that my next vacation isn’t until October and I’m not even leaving Albany!
